Most of the microfinance clients are economically active low-income people and have little or no education at all, the bank understands that it is not enough to provide access to a bank account or credit alone. It is just as crucial, to provide basic financial education to both the existing and potential clients to deepen access to financial services.
Amal Financial Education is essentially a capacity building initiative given by instructors with expertise and credibility to teach financial literacy effectively in order to motivate, engage, and move participants of all ages to take positive financial action. The program provides access to customized workshops and sponsored events focused on:
- General financial education—financial goals, Savings, borrowing, budgeting and recordkeeping
- Financial education for youth (high school and University students)
- Financial Education for economically active women and men
- Financial education for salaried professionals
- Financial education for small and medium (SME’s) businesses owners
